They may call you dark

But don't let them deceive you From darkness comes light.

And when they’re spitting at you yellow Don’t forget your smile is the brightest shade of white

So when they call you dark

Remember, they will always see you when they turn off the lights.

Did you know? The sun is in love with you

The sun loves you so much it kisses you every day

And that's why your skin glows in the summertime You are the colour of the soil seeds are planted in,

Trees grow in, and a new life begins.

You are the colour of tree trunks

And you are like a tree

Strong, graceful, powerful.

With the ability to live forever

The sun hits you and you soak up its rays

But instead of giving oxygen,

People see you and forget to breathe.

Though you are strong like a mountain

Grounded in judgement, bound to the earth

Your hair can defy gravity with every twist and turn

An extension of your nervous system

You are a force to be reckoned with

A part of nature in its purest form

One with the world

One with the galaxy

You are a superhero in this world

A guardian of your culture, of your community

Without knowing it

But once you figure out the power you hold

And how you use it

Never forget it.
